FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS
Do you need to be strong to kitesurf?
I get asked this often when I'm chatting to onlookers on the beach.
The simple answer is no. There are plenty of YouTube videos of kids who are epic kitesurfers. The kite is attached to a harness around your waist so your arms a free to just lightly control it.
Do I need to have lessons?
ABSOLUTELY- Without lessons you put yourself and the safety of others at risk. There's a lot about safety, kite set up features, beach and weather conditions.
Will I be kitesurfing on the first lesson?
No, there is a lot to learn in lesson one.
The first lesson will be learning kite set up, safety, reading the conditions, how to use the wind to fly the kite correctly, launching and landing the kite and pack down among other things
How long does it take to learn?
This varies from person to person and how much practice you put in.
Kite skills are everything and once you have those dialed in getting up on the board and planing sees rapid improvements. If I had to commit to answering this as a guideline I'd say 3-6 months.
How many lesson are enough?
Three is advised but two lessons are the minimum to learn enough so that you can go and start to practice those kite skills on your own.
What do I need to bring?
We supply all the equipment.
Bring sun protection and water. You will be looking up at a kite for quite a while so a brimmed hat and sunglasses are a must. Long sleeves are advisable and/ or sun cream.
